A Little Bit About the North Queens Community

‘North Queens’ is the name used to describe the Northern part of Queens County. The area described as North Queens includes everything within a 30 km. radius of Caledonia, Nova Scotia. In addition to Caledonia, which is the largest community in North Queens, we have many smaller communities that offer their own unique charms. All of the communities in North Queens are interesting places to visit–rich in beauty and opportunities for adventure in addition to having a wealth of history to explore.

North Queens is a friendly place; a place where people are always glad to lend a hand. Our community has always been heavily dependent on our forests, and that continues to be the case today. We use our forests both as a tourism resource and an industrial resource. For nature lovers, North Queens is especially nice in the summer and also in the fall, when the leaves turn beautiful shades of deep red and burnt orange. Tourists also love to visit our beautiful national park, Kejimkujik. However, we still utilize the forest in an industrial sense with two prosperous sawmills in the area as well as a paper mill located to the south.

We, the citizens of North Queens, are proud of our area. In this part of our website, we hope to tell you something about each of our fine communities!
