Every September, Caledonia gears up for its largest and most popular event
–the Queens County Fair. The fair lasts for five days and includes exhibits from all over Nova Scotia
–quilts, crafts, produce, baked goods, livestock–there are too many types of exhibits to name!
The fair starts out with a grand parade through the main street. All of Caledonia turns
out to clap and cheer as the floats drive by. Some floats even throw candy to the little
children who are watching the parade.
After the parade, the fair gets going in earnest. There are several carnival rides and games
which are enjoyable for young and old alike.
The fair also includes beauty pageants, ox pulls, horse shows, exhibits from community groups, and many other exciting spectacles.
A visitor to the fairgrounds could take a walk through exhibits of crafts, preserves, and photographs; or
take a walk through the cattle and horse barns; or even take a ride on the ferris wheel.
The fun atmosphere of the Queens County Fair is suitable for the whole family. We hope
to see you there!
