10 km. or so east of Caledonia, on route 208, you will pass through the
beautiful community of North Brookfield. This community has a long history of farming,
and as you drive by you will note that the roadside is dotted with prosperous farms.
Just off route 208, you will pass the Brookfield Mines Road. It was in this area that a
gold rush occurred during the 1880's. North Brookfield also features a convenient corner
store which is located just across the road from the historic North Brookfield United Baptist
Church, the first church built in North Queens.
