Community Supper text

One of the best things about North Queens is our wonderful community suppers. These suppers, which offer terrific meals at reasonable prices, occur at various times throughout the year. Usually, they are put on by a church or a community group.

The type of community supper varies depending on the time of year. In fall and winter, a lot of turkey suppers take place. In August, there are usually some blueberry suppers happening, while strawberry suppers tend to take place in late June and early July. Also, during summer, roasts often take place.

The main course at community suppers is usually quite constant. Four of the following dishes are usually served: Canadian Chop Suey, Scalloped Potatoes, Ham, Turkey, Baked Beans, and Beef. Potato salads, rolls, bread, cookies, pickles, and sweets are usually available right on the table. Desert varies according to the season; often pie or shortcake is served.

North Queens community suppers are enjoyable both for the quality of the food and for the friendly people that you will find sitting next to you. We hope to see you at one of our community suppers soon!.
